Our Story

As a scientist who worked in our local biotech community for over 10 years, I enjoyed going to work to learn something new every day. My experiences as a student at the University of San Diego and my days on the bench “playing” with chemicals, creating new products only deepened my love of science.

 

When I became a mom, I found myself looking for opportunities to bring my career home to my boys as a way for them to understand where Mom went to work every day. We would get out our lab set, do simple experiments, and usually make a mess in my kitchen. They loved watching things change and grow. They were having so much fun that they didn’t realize they were learning to make observations, problem solve, and explore.

 

What began as a series of kitchen experiments to inspire my kids, has now inspired me to create, The Little Science Lab, as a preschool STEM experience that can be shared with kids everywhere.
